John holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering and is certified as a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), TOGAF Enterprise Architecture Practitioner, GRC Professional, and COBIT certified, among others. His extensive experience spans multiple industries, including finance, education, energy, telecommunications, and manufacturing, where he has successfully integrated security frameworks into diverse organizational environments.
John’s expertise covers a wide range of cybersecurity domains, including governance, risk management, regulatory compliance, data protection, and incident response. He has led critical initiatives, such as enterprise security architecture, advanced threat detection, and vulnerability management, ensuring organizations are resilient against evolving threats.
As a proactive leader and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), John collaborates closely with executive teams to raise security awareness and align security practices with business growth. His forward-thinking approach ensures that security postures are continuously enhanced with innovative solutions, fostering a culture of security-first in every organization he partners with.
Outside of his professional life, John is happily married to his wife, Diana, and together they have two beautiful children. When he’s not working, writing, or giving speeches, John enjoys spending quality time with his family at their home in Manitoba, Canada.
